“I made that bitch famous” is the line that has started a huge controversy. Kanye West spit that line on his new single “Famous,” in reference to pop star Taylor Swift. Ye’ recently went on a Twitter rant after people are claiming to have lost respect for him due to the lyrics. He says that its just a song and that he actually asked Taylor Swift for permission before he released the song. Swift’s people are saying uh-uh honey, that is not true.
Taylor’s rep. released a statement saying,
“Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.'”
Soooooo someone’s lying! Kanye tweeted,
“I called Taylor and had an hour long convo with her about the line and she thought it was funny and gave her blessings.”
He went on to say,
“Bitch is an endearing term in hip hop like the word n****.” And, Kanye says, it was Taylor who actually inspired him with the lyric. He says, “She was having dinner with one of our friends who’s name I will keep out of this and she told him, I can’t be mad at Kanye because he made me famous!”
So now we have a he said, she said, type of deal. Swift’s people saying one thing, Ye’ saying another.
