Sad news as the wife of OKC Thunder assistant coach and former New Orleans head coach Monty Williams, Ingrid Williams died Wednesday morning.
Ingrid Williams was involved in a car accident Tuesday night in Oklahoma City when she was hit head-on by another car that crossed over the center lane. She was taken to a hospital and died Wednesday evening from injuries suffered in the crash. The driver of the other car was pronounced dead at the scene.
More details are coming out about the fatal car crash with cops telling TMZ Sports they believe the other car was speeding at the time of the accident.
A rep for the OKC Police Dept. says “The other driver was clearly going at a fast rate of speed. It was really fast.”
The other driver also had her dog in her lap at the time of the crash leaving many people wondering if the pet distracted the driver on the road.
“I don’t know if we’ll ever know [if the dog was a factor]. She was in the car by herself.”
Investigators will be testing blood from both drivers to see if alcohol or drugs were involved (standard operating procedure in cases like this) but results won’t be back for at least another week.
Monty and Ingrid have five children. Prayers out to the family and my Ingrid rest in peace.
