Director by Abteen Bagheri and producer Chris Black accused Beyonce and her team of stealing footage from a documentary they made called , “The Beat.” Beyonce’s team has now addressed those allegations saying these claims are false.
Chris Black says that Beyonce’s team made an attempt to get the license for the footage but it was not solidified. Beyonce’s team says that everything about their video was obtained legally. They said,
“The documentary footage was used with permission and licensed from the owner of the footage. They were given proper compensation. The footage was provided to us by the filmmaker’s production company. The filmmaker is listed in the credits for additional photography direction. We are thankful that they granted us permission.”
The team says they asked for permission even though it was not needed. They even tweeted the contract and documentation that they had from Sundance.
