A 6.4 earthquake shook southern Taiwan as of 5:30 a.m (4:30 ET Friday) according to the United States Geological Survey. At least 126 people have been rescued from a 17 story building that collapsed. So far 26 people have been hospitalized since the natural disaster happened. Check out the rest of the story after the jump.

The building that collapsed has a total of 60 apartments and it is still unclear how many people are still trapped inside said Tainan City Fire Department. There are over 100 people apart of a rescue team at the scene and are doing everything they can to save those trapped in the collapsed building.
Taiwan’s outgoing President Ma Ying-jeou is on his way to the city, CNN affiliate EBC and other Taiwanese media reported.
