At the end of last year, Grammy nominated artist Kendrick Lamar took a trip to the White House. Following his meeting with President Obama, he shared a few photos and revealed that they covered “topics concerning the inner cities, the problem [and] the solutions.” Lamar was humbled when the POTUS revealed his favorite track of 2015 was Kendrick’s “How Much a Dollar Cost” and said he’d pick Kendrick over Drake in a rap battle. Now, in an interview with Billboard, Kendrick opened up about how he felt when meeting the president.

Kendrick Lamar opened up to Billboard;
“The way people look at me these days — that’s the same way I looked at President Obama before I met him,” he explained. “We tend to forget that people who’ve attained a certain position are human. When [the president] said to my face what his favorite record was — I understood that, no matter how high-ranking you get in this world, you’re human.”
