Florida Governor Rick Scott is taking zero chances with this Zika virus. He has declared a state of emergency in Florida. Florida has a bunch of mosquitos flying around which means people over there have to be extremely careful.
The Zika virus has been found in 31 U.S. states. Those cases have been due to people traveling to different countries and coming back to the states. People have been traveling to Latin America and the Caribbean. Those are places where mosquitos already have the Zika virus. Its cold as of right now but those mosquitos will be out as the weather gets warmer. Rick Scott says,
“We have to ensure Florida is prepared and stays ahead of the spread of the Zika virus in our state. We know that we must be prepared for the worst even as we hope for the best.”
