For those who are a little unfamiliar with the Netflix series, “Making a Murderer,” its about a man by the name of Steven Avery. Avery is currently in jail right now. He was cleared of rape conviction after already spending 18 years in prison. However, he was put back in jail for the murder of Teresa Halbach.
The series is pretty much a review of Avery’s case. Kathleen Zellner, Avery’s lawyer went to visit him. She shared a note that came from Avery thanking his supporters. Zellner recently signed up to defend Avery. She believes that there is new evidence that will free Avery. She released a statement saying,
“We are continuing to examine every aspect of Mr. Avery’s case and all of his legal options. We are confident Mr. Avery’s conviction will be vacated when we present the new evidence and results of our work to the appropriate court.”
Avery’s appeal is Feb. 11 , so until then we can only sit back and wait. If you have not watched the Netflix Series, go for it.
