Grammy-award winner and former The Police frontman Sting will headline the 2016 NBA All-Star Game halftime show in Toronto.
Did the NBA confuse Toronto with London for its first international All-Star Weekend?
NO disrespect to Sting at all, he is an absolute legend but this seems like an odd choice for an NBA All-Star performer. Did the NBA forget their demographic? Also they often choose performers native to the area chosen for the All-Star game and there’s TWO major stars from Canada, Drake and Justin Bieber, both of whom are huge basketball fans. I just don’t get it… Maybe they’ll join Sting as guest performers. Wishful thinking?
Anyways, other notes for the NBA All-Star Entertainment Series presented by JBL:
- Nelly Furtado will sing the Canadian national anthem before the game.
- Ne-Yo will perform the U.S. national anthem
- Cirque du Soleil, the Quebecois circus production, will perform during player introductions
The 65th NBA All-Star Game will take place on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 8 p.m.
