Stacy Dash has been the target of social media for about a week now. Her comments on eliminating BET and Black History Month as a whole has sparked huge conversation. BET went in on Dash for her comment by asking her if they could get their checks back for her being a guest on one of their shows.
Dash says that the shade BET threw at her was very unnecessary. They showed a picture of Dash on the show “The Game” which airs on BET. Dash took to the internet to write a response back to BET. She started off the cypher by saying,
“They reminded me — and the rest of America — that I appeared on a show called ‘The Game,’ which appeared on BET,” Dash wrote. “Well, here’s the thing. Thank you for reminding me, since most people have never heard of that show. Why? It’s on BET.”
Ummmmmm…..Miss Dash, did you notice that “The Game” started off on CW11 as a hit show for three seasons before it made it to BET? Might wanna do your research before you make a public statement on something.
Dash went on to say she is “thankful for all of the acting jobs I’ve had [and can’t wait for] when people don’t self-segregate based on skin color, while loudly complaining about a segregated society.”
She then said,
“My problem goes back to the notion that every area of life needs to break down exactly according to demographic ratios except in those areas in which black people have decided they want to have their own space,” She wrote. “I don’t have a problem with black people having their own space. I have a problem with the folks at BET absolutely freaking out when other institutions don’t match up to what they think is best.”
