In a recent interview Floyd Mayweather said he and UFC champion Conor McGregor had similar attitudes in terms of being talking trash but Conor is praised for it while Floyd is crucified and called “cocky and arrogant”. McGregor fired back in an Instagram post noting the history of his Irish heritage and invited Mayweather to set up a fight between them. While promoting UFC 197, McGregor was asked about Mayweather’s comments again and he was still fuming.
“I think Floyd needs to learn before he opens his mouth”, McGregor said. “You don’t put a man like me in a situation like that.”
“I am a multicultural individual, I take from many cultures as a young Irish man,” he continued. “I know he wasn’t saying that I was that person but it put me in that bracket and I did not appreciate that one bit.”
“There’s people buried in the desert for less than that. So Floyd needs to understand, before he speaks, who he is speaking about. It’s as simple as that.”
I’m definitely awaiting Mayweather’s response on this one…
