Orange is the New Black star Dacha Polanco spent some time giving back at Progress High School in Williamsburg, Brooklyn on Friday (January 16th). Polanco who is a Brooklyn native, spent time with 75 of the school’s seniors sharing her lecture on the importance of education and following their dreams.
Part of the message Dacha shared was “Do not use excuses as a way not to accomplish the goals you have set and the dreams you may have,” she added, “Please know that there are choices in life and know that there are consequences to the choices you make. You might not understand it now, but as you grow older you will notice how all of your actions have turned you into who you are.”
However, while at the school one of the seniors found the courage to as the 33 year-old actress to be his date to prom. She accepted his invite revealing she has never attended or been asked to the annual dance.
