Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger confirmed during his weekly radio show Tuesday that he has a sprained AC joint and torn ligaments in his throwing shoulder.
Roethlisberger told 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh that his shoulder is “definitely sore” but maintained that his status is still day-to-day as the Steelers prepare for Sunday’s AFC divisional round game against the Denver Broncos.
Multiple sources told ESPN on Monday that Roethlisberger is likely to play against Denver.
Roethlisberger suffered the injury in the third quarter of Saturday’s playoff victory over the rival Cincinnati Bengals, when his right shoulder was driven into the turf on a sack by Cincinnati linebacker Vontaze Burfict.
