Vince Staples open up about gang life on ESPN’s Highly Questionable. The California rapper also talks about his struggles with school, and how he was sent to Atlanta by his mom to stay out of trouble. Hit the jump to watch the interview.
During the interview, Vince was asked mainly about gang life. He explained to the show that gang life is a product of the community, and not because of the people in the community.
I don’t think it’s something that you extract yourself from, it’s something that you move on from, for the simple fact that these things aren’t based in crime or wrong, these things are based in being a part of a certain community. And the only way to get away form that community is to literally leave the community or better the community.
Vince Staples is a very smart young man, and this isn’t the first time he dropped knowledge during an interview. It’s a good watch, and you can view it below.
