Master P was on the air this morning and took a little jab at today’s rappers claiming they just get high too much off syrup and that it’s ruining our generation of hip-hop. Arguable. Hit the jump for his comments on the game.
No doubt Master P had a thick grip around the game’s neck back in the late 90’s as his label No Limit was consistently dropping new music and running the charts. Well, all these some odd years later things have changed quite a bit for the rap mogul, but he says he’s looking to get back into it with one simple way- hard work.
P than went on to question our generation of rap artists’ work ethic by saying hip-hop’s drug of choice, syrup, is getting in the way of the game’s success:
“Nobody really wanna work no more…Everybody getting high now. The syrup is killing this whole generation. Sometimes you don’t have to work for the money. If you do what you gotta do and you good at it, the money gon’ come. You gotta love what you’re doing. And you gotta educate yourself.”
Do you think it’s the syrup that’s holding back good music from being made? Do you even agree with his claims? 2015 was one big year for hip-hop, nearly everyone dropped. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
