The Miss Universe contest is now behind us, however, the mistake that shamed a nation is still being talked about. Steve Harvey, who called on Miss Columbia as Miss Universe when in fact it was Miss Philippines that won, himself has finally opened up about the ordeal and the possibility of the mistake being a publicity stunt.

“Why the hell what [sic] I do that? I’m already famous,” says Harvey on his WBLS 107.5 radio show. “Do you really think I wanted to be famous like this?”

While there was some blame placed on the teleprompter, the television host says he will continue to be the one who the people can finger-point at.

“Did I make a mistake? Yes I did. I’m not in the finger pointing business and rolling other people the bus,” he said.

Pia Wurtzbach, better known as Miss Philippines does not mind if Harvey comes back to host the 2016 Miss Universe, but she does mind sharing her glory; the crown.

“I think it would be a little bit difficult for two girls to share a crown, but I have high hopes that this will give great opportunities for me and Miss Colombia and the rest of the contestants,” Wurtzbach mentioned on Good Morning America after hearing that Miss Colombia thought they should share the crown.
