An unusual set of twins were born on separate days but also were brought into the world in different years. How strange is that? Maribel and Luis Valencia are the parents to new born baby Jaelyn and Luis. One babies was born at 11:59 p.m December 31, 2015 and the other child was born shortly after on January 1, 2016 at 12:06 a.m. Check out the rest of the story after the jump.

Mother of the children, Maribel Valencia was expecting to deliver her babies on January 6th of this year but her babies just couldn’t wait to come to the world. Doctors urged the new mom to deliver her babies early just because the way her son was positioned in her womb. Father Luis Valencia stated that their son was breeched, meaning that the baby was positioned feet first in the the mothers womb.

“It’s very unusual and it’s very special. I haven’t seen it in all my 34 years of nursing”

Said Lynnette Coetzee, a nurse at the San Diego Kaiser Permanente Zion Medical Center.

The new babies names are Jaelyn and Luis and their parents couldn’t be any happier to have to healthy babies delivered to start the new year. Congratulations to the parents.
