Hover boards have taken the world by storm in 2015. It seems as if almost everyone has one and those who don’t have one just have to to get their hands on the hands free scooter. Although hover boards seem cool they are also very dangerous. People have been falling off of them and getting seriously injured and they have been reported to catch on fire. That’s crazy! Now there are new laws pertaining to the hands free scooter device and if you got one for Christmas and you’re under 16 years old you might want to return it for something else. Check out the rest of the story after the jump.

Hover boards are all the rage and everyone wants one. They are cool and fun but they are also very dangerous. If you don’t know what a hover board is it’s evident that you have been living under a rock for the past few months. Literally every little kid and even adult’s want one of those things but there are new laws that are being put into effect starting January 1, 2016. You have to be 16 years old or older to ride one. You must wear a helmet at all times while riding the hands free scooter. You can’t use hover boards on roadways, trails or sidewalks but scooter riders will be allowed to use bike lanes and pathways, mostly. Also, riders can use highways which allow travel speed maximums of 35 miles per hour. I’m not sure if I or anyone else would want to ride that thing on a highway.
I’m positive that kids who got a hover board for Christmas will be livid that they can’t ride it. I personally think they are dangerous and I trip over my own feet so i can only imagine what would happen if i dared to stand on one of those things. Comment below and tell us what you think.
