Master P has been apart of the entertainment game since the 1990’s. He is not new to this. From rapping, to acting, to just being a business man in general, P can definitely give a bunch of insight on how this game works as he did during a recent interview.
During a interview with Complex, Master P sheds light on why it is extremely important for people to understand the importance of authenticity in the rap game.
“A lot of guys they say they come from the streets, they made all this money on the streets. If you got real money, then what are you looking for a record deal for? You talking on thse songs, ‘I’m the biggest dope dealer, I took over my hood,’ but now you’re looking for a record deal, it makes no sense.”
Master P makes a great point by saying a lot of artist focus on the way that the internet portays them instead of worrying about their music. Everything is determined by a social media aspect. Social media truly shapes and molds some people.
“I think this generation should stop being fraud to if you’re not really living like that, talk about how you’re living. Talk about the struggle. I think if this generation start being more real and stop getting caught up in the social media gimmicks, you would really be able to see the talent now.”
