Lately we’ve been seeing the actress on the cover of magazines and showing off her impressive vocals! Now it looks like Sanaa Lathan is back to acting and has just landed a role in a new mini-series coming to fox! The series will reunite the actress with the director behind Love & Basketball, Gina Prince-Bythewood and executive producer of the hit show Empire, Brian Grazer.
The series which will be called Shots Fired is set in a small town in Tennessee, showing the after math of an African American cop killing a white teenager. Lathan will play a D.C. investigator who was sent to the town by the Department of Justice to seek justice in a town being torn apart by racial shootings.
It seems if this show has come at the right time, especially with the amount of police shootings we have been experiencing all over the U.S. recently.
Sanaa Lathan took it to twitter to announce and share her news with everyone tweeting,
“Yessss! Gonna be hot. Coming to your living rooms 2016,”
