Atlanta rapper Father(I know the name is pretty strange) is gearing up to drop two new projects, in hopes of taking his career to the next level. First he’s going to drop a project with Lex Luger titled Man, Somebody Get These New Niggas EP, and then he’s going to drop an album in 2016 called I’m A Piece of Shit. Very strange project names, but Father doesn’t do anything ordinary. Hit the jump for more.
Father entered the rap game with help from his good friend ILoveMakonnen. His first underground hit came from a song that featured ILoveMakonnen called Look At Wrist, which helped him gain a core fanbase. Father used the momentum from that track to eventually branched away from ILoveMakonnen, and created Awful Records.
The independent label includes a long list of creative young artist from Atlanta that are hungry for success. Other than Father, the biggest artist on the label is rising star Playboi Carti. Many feel that Father and Playboi Carti have the music and the persona to cross over to mainstream America.
Father took to Twitter to announce the two projects, and his fans are very excited for the releases. The project with Lex Luger is going to be very interesting, since Lex is known for making trap beats, while Father is known for rapping over smooth, creative instrumentals. However, Father seems like a visionary, so I expect him to utilize Lex Luger’s talents properly to create a dope EP.
