Mr. Campbell’s girlfriend, 32-year-old Tamika Hurd, died on Feb. 22, 2014, after freezing to death. Tamika came home after drinking with her brother, showered and then went outside. The problem was she didn’t know how to get back in and froze to death from 25 degree weather. Charles moved Tamika from the yard into an unheated enclosed porch where Tamkia didn’t know how to get back in the house.

Judge Angela Pasula belived Charles went way too far

You did not try to help her, on this occasion. There’s a fine line between tough love and compassion. The victim was highly intoxicated and your failure to assist her may have risen to cruelty.

I don’t know why this woman didn’t just call her brother, or the police. Why would you just sit there and die?
