So the news got a little hectic lately. According to multiple new outlets, fugitive Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzman wrote a letter to ISIS leader Abu Bakr Al Baghadadi, “declaring war” on the Islamic group. In actuality, El Chapo is not coming for ISIS.

Steve Charnock, a satiric blogger for a website called Thug Life Videos has reached out to the Daily Mail to say that he and his boss discussed the fake story before posting it to their website; the story was then picked up by cartel.com, and then flooded the Internet gates.

“It was satire, faux news,” Charnock said to The Daily Mail. “It got a few shares on Facebook initially, but now it is the top story on some websites.”
