Online reports state that a source close to Beyonce has revealed that she is working hard to take the acting scene by storm. Queen Bey has been working diligently to land an “iconic” and “dramatic role” to prove her acting chops once and for all. The source says Bey was even offered the role of Dororthy in the recent recreation of The Wiz Live.

A source tell US Weekly that Beyonce has been working hard, taking acting classes in both New York and LA over the past year to help her unveil her inner thespian.

The 34-year-old 7/11 singer has starred in movies like Austin Powers, Obsessed with Idris Elba, and Dreamgirls which earned her a nomination for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy at the Golden Globes. even with her many acting jobs, some still doubt her ability to deliver so the queen is hellbent on proving all the naysayers wrong.

The source claims that Beyonce turned down the opportunity to play Dorothy in The Wiz Live because she wants to move away from musical–totally understandable.

“She wants to make a film that’s socially relevant to African American rights.”

Not sure if I can picture her pulling off such a serious role, but she’s accomplished everything she’s set out to do thus far so I won’t count her out just yet!
