Chris Brown’s past of domestic abuse continues to haunt his present. This week Brown was denied access to Australia due to “character grounds” forcing him to cancel several tour dates in Australia and New Zealand and it now appears he was forced cancel his appearance on ‘The Daily Show.’

According to reports by the Daily Beast, having Brown booked on the show was a cause for concern. They report, “While many staffers disapprove of the booking decision, host Trevor Noah allegedly hopes to use the interview to bring light to domestic abuse issues,” adding, “Noah brought up such a possibility during an all-hands meeting on Monday afternoon.”
Comedy Central spokeswoman released an official statement to the Washington Post, not revealing a true reason for the cancellation but stating all bookings are subject to change and that “the show hopes to reschedule Chris for a future appearance.”
