A man has been detained by the Secret Service after jumping over the fence and onto the North Lawn of the White House, while President Obama and the First Family were inside celebrating Thanksgiving.

The man, who has since be identified as Joseph Caputo, was caught by the Secret Service but not before the moment he scaled the fence and hurled himself over was captured on camera by White House intern, Vanessa Pena. According to Pena and another woman, “the man came up behind us,” and “I heard him take a deep breath and say, ‘All right, let’s do this.'”
An extra seven inches of spikes were recently added to the White House fence to discourage such incidents after at least three similar incidences occurred earlier this year.
