Being the loving man that he is, Obama took it upon himself to go meet with young muslim refugees. Obama states that for as long as he’s president, the United States will always be a place of comfort to those who are trying to flee their terroristic countries. He met with the young children at a learning center in the Malaysian capital, where he put together puzzles and even did a few paintings with the kids. How sweet.
Majority of the children Obama met with are Rohingya which is a muslim ethnic group. Rohingya people escaped from Myanmar so that they would not be persecuted which is how they ended up in Malaysia. Obama feels like the world is so focused on Syria that they do not even acknowledge the other refugees around the world.
U.S. lawmakers feel as though it would not be safe to allow Syrian refugees inside of the United States because they do not want any terrorist to slip through with them and cause havoc in our country. Obama totally disagrees saying he will veto anything that crosses him stating that we should not allow these refugees into our country. I don’t know Obama. I think you need to think that one through a little more. After meeting with the kids, he stated,
“Anybody who had a chance to see those kids, hopefully you understood the degree to which they’re just like our kids. They deserve love and stability and protection.”
Which is absolutely true, but what about the people in our country?
He continued saying,
“as long as I’m president we are going to keep stepping up.”
However, we must commend Obama for stepping up and being a helping hand to these children. The smiles on their faces were so heartwarming.
