Ronda Rousey lost in a stunning upset as Holly Holm defeated her by way of a knockout  in the 2nd round during UFC 193.  It was pretty brutal as Holm delivered a kick that sent Rousey to the ground and then delivered a couple more blows before the official ended the fight.  Rousey went to the hospital immediately after the fight, skipping the post fight press conference and many wondered if it was the official end of her reign.  She finally broke her silence, delivering a message on her Instagram account.

She received stitches for facial cuts and had plastic surgery on her lip, according to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne.

“She was transported (to hospital) because she got knocked out,” UFC chief Dana White said in the wake of the bout. “She’s completely bummed out and depressed.”

White said a likely rematch between Holm and Rousey would put other potential matchups on the backburner.

“We don’t make fights the night of the fight, but the rematch makes a lot of sense,” he said. “The rematch is what the people want to see.”
