If you thought for one second that you were going to be able to get out of making a sweet potato pie this Thanksgiving and planned on buying one of Patti LaBelle’s, think again. Over the weekend, YouTube sensation James Wright Chanel posted his review of the Patti LaBelle Pie. During the video, he tests the pie live for the viewers and after one bite he promptly turns into the Diva, hitting the high notes of her records, “If Only You Knew,” “You Are My Friend” and “On My Own.”
Since the video hit the net, it has gone viral and has been viewed more than 7 million times on Facebook and 1 million on Youtube. James Wright Chanel encouraged viewers to go out and get the pie and try it for themselves and thats exactly what they did.
Walmart, where the pie is sold for $4 each, has since reported that they have been flying off the shelves and are currently sold out nationwide.

After catching wind of the video, Patti LaBelle put in a call to Wright thanking him for his review. Wright dished to Chicago’s Fox 32 News “She kept thanking me and she kept telling me how much she loved me and she just kept telling me to be me,” adding, “She was like, ‘boy, you can sang!’”
