Russian government “leaked” evidence of their giant 100-megaton nuclear torpedo via Russian TV. Most believe this to be a warning to the U.S. not to seek nuclear advantage over Russia. This torpedo has the potential to cause a tsunami large enough to reach the middle of the United States.

During the Cold War in the 1950s, Russian nuclear physicist Andrei Sakharov envisioned this torpedo. Now it exists. For the record, the largest nuclear device ever detonated was 58-megatons by Russia, dubbed “Tsar Bomba.”
A small group of media point out that this type of torpedo could be used for installing surveillance devices or delivering deep-sea equipment. The Russians actually have a budget just for deep-sea research. After all, most of their country has a coast line with the Arctic Ocean.
Russian government has portrayed this as a leak. At the end of the day, this publicity stunt has an iron fist behind it. President Obama’s political science tactics towards Russian President Putin will hold extreme weight for the coming weeks. Diplomatic relations with Russia will also be supercharged in the next American presidency, making the candidate significantly more important.
This torpedo could cause a tsunami 1,650 feet high, killing every living plant, animal and human 930 miles into the United States. That’s from New York to Missouri, from Chicago to Florida, from Washington state to Mexico. Whether Russians would use this torpedo on the East Coast or West Coast, really only North and South Dakota would stand a chance of swimming away.
