Before their 101-92 win over the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night, the Sacramento Kings were 1-7 and imploding. Franchise player and known hot-head DeMarcus Cousins reportedly cursed out head coach George Karl in front of the whole team.
After Sacramento was hammered at home by San Antonio Monday night, the Kings’ star, DeMarcus Cousins, stormed into the locker room and cursed out head coach George Karl with a torrent of obscenities, a person close to the situation told The Big Lead.
After Cousins unleashed the F-bombs on Karl, all the head coach – who publicly feuded with the Kings best player last summer – could do was walk away, a source tells The Big Lead. Afterward, Cousins felt some remorse for his actions, asking a couple of teammates if he came down too hard on the coach. They calmly told him, “you can’t scream and curse like that at your coach in front of everyone.”
It was then reported that Karl wanted to suspend Cousins for two games but was overruled by Kings general manager Vlade Divac. They held a team meeting on Tuesday which reportedly led to everything being straightened out.
Cousins later sent an apology Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, which you can read in the gallery above. Though it was reported that Karl’s job is in jeopardy, Divac says he will remain the coach for the rest of the season.
