The top-rated player in the class of 2016, Harry Giles, announced his intention to play for Duke University and Coach K next fall. Giles’ decision to sign with the Blue Devils came just days after tearing his ACL, which will force him to miss his senior year of high school ball.

Even with the injury, Giles is already considered a legit first overall pick in the NBA draft after his freshman season is over.
Giles had narrowed down his final choice of schools to Duke, Wake Forest, Kansas and Kentucky, prior to the final announcement this morning.
“Every time I go to Duke it feels like home,” Giles said after announcing the decision on ESPN. “Every time I talk to Coach K, it’s a special feeling. …I feel most comfortable there.”
Giles was originally supposed to announce Nov. 14, but last week he bumped his decision up to Nov. 12. Then, after tearing the ACL in his right knee on Tuesday night, the family scrambled and organized with ESPN to move up his verbal announcement even sooner. Giles’ Duke declaration was made at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va., where he’s spending his senior season.
Giles averaged 23.9 points and 12.5 rebounds last season, while playing for Wesleyan High School in his home state of North Carolina.
We wish Giles a speedy recovery and good luck at Duke next year. They will be a monster team as usual.
