Like it or not, Spike Lee is known to leave an lasting impact with his films; surely he will do the same with the December 4th release of Chi-Raq, a Spike Lee Joint.

Chi-Raq stars heavy-hitters such as Samuel L. Jackson, Nick Cannon, Wesley Snipes, Jennifer Hudson, Angela Bassett, John Cusack, and Dave Chapelle.

In the trailer, the Spike Lee joint shows women who without all physical interaction from the men in their lives that choose to live the violent live in one of the most violent cities in America; Chicago.

Chi-Raq is described as follows:

A modern day adaptation of the ancient Greek play Lysistrata by Aristophanes, set against the backdrop of gang violence in Chicago. After the murder of a child by a stray bullet, a group of women led by Lysistrata organize against the on-going violence in Chicago’s Southside creating a movement that challenges the nature of race, sex and violence in America and around the world.
