The New England Patriots is easily the most controversial team in the NFL. Between Spygate and most recently, Deflategate, the Patriots have proven to stop at no lengths to ensure the team’s successes.
According to former Jets quarterback, Boomer Esiason, felt that his former team may have tried to take extra precautions and asked for there to be a sweep of the visitors locker room, a sweep for any bug devices.
The Patriots have been considered a sketchy team for many years now. Between cheating scandals, to players being convicted of double/triple-homicides, the team is always making headlines for one thing or another. They have proven that not ‘all press is good press.’
Former Jets QB, Boomer Esiason must’ve thought that the Pats still had some tricks up their sleeves as he reported that the Jets requested for the visitor locker room to be checked for bugs.
Esiason explained on his radio show that most teams are still skeptical of playing in Gilette Stadium.
The league denied the comments about the Jets request and said that the room was swept, but not for said reasons. In a statement, the league explained,
“We have conducted for years routine and random checks around the league.”
Rumors have even circulated that star QB for the Denver Broncos, Peyton Manning has his doubts about playing in Foxboro and has reportedly taken teammates and coaches aside outside of the locker room to discuss game tactics.
The Patriots will face the Washington Redskins on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 1 p.m..
