In a recent interview with W magazine, Drake opened up about his desire to get back into acting. The Canadian heartthrob starred in the teenage soap opera Degrassi for several seasons until he says, he was forced to choose between his love for acting and his budding rap career.
Degrassi co-creator Linda Schuyler caught wind of his interview and denied his allegations of being kicked off the show. According to Schuyler, Degrassi was more than willing to help Drake balance both careers.

“That was part of the reason I was kicked off the show,” Drake explained. “Back then, I’d spend a full day on set and then go to the studio to make music until 4 or 5 a.m. I’d sleep in my dressing room and then be in front of the cameras again by 9 a.m. Eventually, they realized I was juggling two professions and told me I had to choose. I chose this life.”
Linda Schuyler sat down with Buzzfeed to dispute Drake’s allegations. She said, “I’m hoping there was just some miscommunication here, because if that’s the perception nothing could make me sadder, not only did we know [about Drake’s workload], we helped him with it.”
