The game of football is always changing and coaches are forever trying to come up with ways to one-up the next guy. Well, yesterday the Baylor Bears took things to a new level, when 410-lb., LaQuan McGowan carried the ball for a Baylor TD.
LaQuan McGowan of the Baylor Bears shocked everyone during yesterday’s game against the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks, who are 0-5 this year, were fooled when McGowan, who clearly looks like an offensive linemen, slipped past the D-line and caught the ball. By the time he made the reception, McGowan only had to deal with the one, last defender. Naturally, he did not have much trouble as he skipped into the end zone for six.
Though you probably wouldn’t expect it, this isn’t McGowan’s first time across the goal line. He also had an 18-yard reception for a touchdown when the Texas team played Michigan State.
Commentators weren’t the only one’s who got a kick out of the play. Robert Griffin III, former Baylor, Heisman Trophy winner and currently of the Washington Redskins, sent a tweet expressing he appreciation for it.
“When you weigh 410 lbs you naturally go to Baylor as an O-Lineman & get moved to TE like our guy LaQuan McGowan & score TDs #SicEmBears”
The Bears won the game against Kansas 66-7 and now stand at 5-0 for the season.
