Another school shooting! A Northern Arizona University student is dead and three others are injured after a shooting on campus early Friday morning. Hit the jump to read more about this tragic situation.
NAU officials have identified the student killed as freshman Colin Brough. Nicholas Prato, Kyle Zientek and Nicholas Piring are currently being treated at Flagstaff Medical Center. Their current conditions are unclear.
NAU tweeted out just before 3 a.m. that the suspect, 18-year-old Steven Jones, is in custody.
Flagstaff Police Chief Greg Fowler said Jones opened fire during a fight between two student groups.
Officials tell ABC15 the shooting happened outside of the Mountain View Hall dormitory on the northeast side of campus.
The first call of shots fired came out at 1:20 a.m. Mountain View Hall residents were asked to stay inside. The campus was not on lockdown.
