The reports about tensions between Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose are starting to pile up; so either there really is a problem between them or people are trying to create one. The latest report discusses a difference in work ethic.
via Joe Crowley of the Chicago Sun-Times:
It was provided Wednesday, as a former member of the Bulls said in a phone interview, “Personally, the two are great. Professionally is where they have a difference of opinion.’’
According to the source, Butler considers Rose a friend, but “doesn’t have a lot of respect for his work ethic.’’ In Butler’s mind, Rose was considered the face of the franchise, and if the face of the franchise wasn’t busting his butt in practice every day, especially last season, what was the message to the rest of the team?
The Chicago Bulls have a chance to be the second best team in the Eastern Conference and really challenge the Cleveland Cavaliers but they have to avoid all distractions. They also need Derrick Rose to be at or close to his MVP production. Should he falter or suffer another injury, his title as the face of the franchise could slowly transition over to Butler. Jimmy is already becoming more prominent as fans notice his production and work ethic, this could be causing tension between them.
