Not only can she sing her brains out, but Mariah Carey also has talents in many different fields aside from just vocals!

The 45-year-old song bird has officially announced that she is directing her own Christmas movie called A Christmas Melody. Sources close to Carey also revealed that she had one request; all she wanted was her favorite actress from her favorite movie to take the leading role – Lacey Chabert who played Gretchen Weiners in Mean Girls.

Chabert gladly took on the role and filming started this past Tuesday, October 6th. Although Mariah won’t be making any cameos in the film, sources said her music will appear throughout the holiday-themed movie.
