Kelis, the singer turned trained chef and author will have turned mother of one to mother of two come November. In an interview with People, she opens up about her pregnancy and how Knight Jones, her six-year-old son with ex-husband rapper Nas, is taking a new person ready to come in on his territory.

The with child 36-year-old explains that Knight is over the top excited. “He’s so excited, which is actually really cute,” she begins. “He’s very grown up about everything. He was like, ‘Congratulations, Mama,’ like a friend,” she says. “[And] patted me on the back.”

Knight is already planning on activities with the baby-to-be; so-much-so that he talks to his mother’s stomach all day about what’s going to happen with him as big brother.

“I was like, ‘We’re going to have another baby in the family,’ so now he’s like, ‘I can’t wait. I’m going to teach the baby everything’ He’s all about it.”

I think its cool when a child can be excited about a sibling. Although that excitement shifts come their teens, but that’s a long ways away.
