The ongoing Lil Wayne vs Birdman situation continues, as news comes out that Lil Wayne tried to sign Chanel West Coast, to only have Birdman step in and and block the deal. Hit the jump to read more.
Lil Wayne says he was attempting to develop young talent in an effort to keep Young Money a powerhouse. However, Birdman is supposedly blocking his decisions.
In an ongoing legal battle with Birdman, Weezy claims in legal documents he tried to ink a deal with Chanel West Coast on his Young Money label, but the deal didn’t go through because Cash Money refused to give the official sign off.
The odd part about this situation is back in 2013 it was reported Chanel signed with Young Money and is still on the official Young Money website as an artist. According to Wayne’s docs though, the deal was never made offical, so Chanel might have never been a member of YMCMB.
Wayne makes it clear though, that he feels Birdman is standing in the way of business and ultimately costing the company a ton of money.
