This is a big year for Kevin Durant as he will become a free agent at the end of the season. While he seems committed to the Oklahoma City Thunder, there’s a big KD2DC movement trying to bring the star “back home” to play with the Washington Wizards. Right now John Wall is the star on that team and as the big man in charge, he’s expected to help lead the welcome wagon. Here’s what he had to say.
During a visit to Comcast SportsNet Mid-Atlantic, John Wall was asked if he was going to try to persuade Durant to join the squad.
“There’s gonna be an opportunity to throw a pitch at him to try to get him to come back home,” said Wall about Kevin Durant. “But I know one thing of just knowing him he’s going to be very focused on taking care of Oklahoma City this season, and I’m going to be focused on taking care of the Washington Wizards,” Wall said. “But when the time is right and he can get away from all that, yeah, we’ll probably have some conversation and throw a pitch.”
Wall is right, Durant is focused on taking care of business in OKC right now, especially since everybody including himself is finally healthy again. If they aren’t able to make it very far with a healthy team, that might make Wall’s job a little easier when it’s time to throw that pitch.
