Everyone knows Russell Wilson has a tight relationship with God and is a religious man. He had previously rubbed people the wrong way when he claimed basically that God decided the outcome of football games after the Seahawks beat the Packers in the NFC Championship last year. Aaron Rodgers was one of the players who had something to say about it at the time saying God had more important things to do than worry about football. Fast forward to this past Sunday and the Packers beat Seattle in Green Bay and of course, God came up again.

Rodgers threw a jab at Wilson after the win, saying God must have been on the Packers side during the post game conference. It was a clear shot at Wilson and perhaps evidence Rodgers was still annoyed with the comments from last year.

Wilson responded Thursday to a perceived jab from Aaron Rodgers about God’s involvement in deciding football games, saying everyone is entitled to his or her own opinion.

“I know for me, I’m just grateful that God has given me the opportunity to play the great game of football,” the Seattle Seahawks quarterback said. “I’m so grateful. I know that one of the things my parents always taught me is just continue to remain humble in your victories and your losses. And I think that’s just the thing that I’m grateful for, just to be able to play the game of football. I love it. Like I said, everybody’s entitled to their own opinion.”

Doesn’t sound like Russell is going to change his way of thinking about God & football anytime soon.
