The New York Giants are notorious for rocky starts to past seasons. This season has proved to be no different. Losing two games that should have resulted in victories for the New York team, fans were instantly annoyed, and with good reason.

Thursday night, Eli Manning and the Giants turned things around and defeated the Washington Redskins, 32-21.

The Giants hosted the Redskins in a game that should’ve been retaliation following last season’s New York victory in Washington.

The Giants started out on fire with a blocked punt by running back Rashad Jennings during the Redskins’s opening drive. The block had the Giants on the 1-yard line and made the first six points an easy score.

By halftime, the Giants were up 15-6 following an interception by Prince Amukamara.

At one point, each team went point for point and the Redskins looked like they might make a last minute comeback.

Following a short, but scoring drive by New York, Redskin Rashad Ross ran back a return for a 101-yard TD, putting the score at 32-21 with just over three minutes left in the game.

Washington tried for the onside kick, but failed which essentially ended the game.

The Giants have not been to the playoffs since winning the Super Bowl in 2011 and fans/commentators are saying that this may be head coach, Tom Coughlin’s last chance. Succeeding multiple rocky seasons, Coughlin finds himself on the hot seat once again.

For the first time since 2011, the Giants finally have a team that has threatening potential in every aspect. The return of a healthy Victor Cruz and Jason Pierre-Paul would be the icing on the cake for the 2015 Giants team.

We will have updates on Cruz and Pierre-Paul as they are released by the team.
