I think everyone will agree with Phil Jackson on this one. Although Michael Jordan still played at a high level and was by far the best player on the Wizards when he came back in 2001, it obviously didn’t compare to the rest of his famed career. It’s hard to even see pictures of MJ in a Wizards jersey because you always want to relate the GOAT to one team. His former coach, Phil Jackson, shared his thoughts on MJ returning for a second time after calling it quits again in 1998.

Michael Jordan’s career would have ended on the perfect note if he stayed away after hitting the legendary jumper in game 6 against the Utah Jazz, a shot which gave MJ and the Bulls a second three peat.

While speaking with the media today, the question came up to Phil about how he felt when Jordan un-retired for a second time. “There’s a part of me that wishes Michael Jordan said goodbye after that last shot in Utah.”

For what’s it’s worth, MJ did score 43 points in a game at age 40 and it’s not like he still isn’t recognized as the best ever but he definitely would have had a movie like ending to his career if he never wore a Wizards jersey.
