The ladies at “The View” are usually in one headline or another for their blunt and honest comments on current events. Recently, former co-host Joy Behar joined the show as a guest and cracked a joke that did not leave too many people laughing.

Millions of people took to Twitter and were outraged. Find out why, below!

Last week, Kelley Johnson, Miss Colorado of the Miss America Pageant, stood proudly on the stage dressed in her scrubs and decorated with a stethiscope around her neck. She explained her experiences as a nurse dealing with patients who suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease.

“Why does she have a doctor’s stethoscope on?”

Behar asked. Nurses around the world took immediate offense. Nurses are actually trained to use such tools to ensure that proper measures are taken to keeping their patients healthy as explained by Johnson herself.

Co-star Michelle Collins added her own fuel to the fire.

“The talent, though, I have to say, the woman who won sang opera, and she was incredible. Really good. But then there was a girl who wrote her own monologue and I was like ‘Turn the volume up, this is going be amazing, let’s listen’. She came out in a nurse’s uniform and basically read her emails out loud and shockingly did not win.”

The ladies at “The View” saw that as some kind of comedic content and are getting burned on social media. The hashtag “#NursesUnite” has been used over 40,000 times in the last week.

Advertisers such as Johnson and Johnson and Eggland’s Best have retracted their ads from the ABC morning show.

Johnson and Johnson made a post to Facebook regarding the issue:

“We value and appreciate nurses and their educational journey, and now you can show your appreciation just by sharing a photo! We wanted to put some of the money we saved by pausing our ads on a certain daytime program to good use, so for every eligible photo you post through our Donate A Photo app designating the Foundation of the National Student Nurses Association (FNSNA), Johnson & Johnson will donate $1 to provide scholarships for nursing students, up to $50,000. You can share one photo a day through the end of the year, so keep your photos coming! ‪#‎nurses unite‬”

Eggland’s Best also made a statement explaining that the company

“appreciates nurses and values the important role they play in family health. In light of the comments about the nursing profession recently made on daytime television, we will no longer be advertising on the show in question”

While the ladies at The View are used to being targeted for their off-the-wall comments, the view isn’t looking good right now.
