This has been a rough few months for Subway.

Today on Tuesday, September 15th, CEO and co-founder of the popular Subway sandwich chain was pronounced dead after battling with Leukemia for over two years at the age of 67-years-old.

DeLuca was only 17 when he opened the restaurant. Since it has been opened, it has been ranked as the country’s biggest chain and third biggest as far as sales.

Unfortunately, there has been a bit of drama surrounding Subway as of lately ever since the face of their company, Jared Fogle, was found guilty in an on-going child pornography investigation.

RIP, Fred! So sad.
