It’s been over a decade since the tragic death of R&B singer Aaliyah, now through the collaboration of her family and Perfume company Xyrena Aaliyah is getting her very own fragrance.

Aaliyah’s mother and brother, Diane and Rashad Haughton, have been working closely with Xyrena to create a fragrance that captures the essence the late singer. “It has been wonderful working with Xyrena to create an incredible fragrance that embodies the beauty, mystery, and creativity that my sister infused into every aspect of her life,” Rashad said.
Xyrena’s CEO Killian Wells explained how important this project is to her, “I grew up with Aaliyah’s music,” adding, “As a huge fan, this is a very personal release for me and my company. We set out to create a fragrance to be cherished by Aaliyah’s fans and also introduce her to a new generation.”
The fragrance is unisex however is slightly more masculine, to acknowledge Aaliyah’s sexy tomboy persona. Aaliyah by Xyrena contains notes of vanilla, sandalwood, amber, and jasmine; as well as black pepper, violet and leather, along with mint, lavender, and mandarin. The fragrance will retail for $64, and is now available for pre-order, with shipments beginning in mid-October. Check out the tribute commercial below.
