Three years ago in July, James Holmes entered an Aurora, Colo. movie theater with the intent to harm 400+ moviegoers. The mentally ill individual succeeded by killing 12 people and wounding 70 others. Although the 27th has since been found guilty and sentenced to life in prison, the heart-wrenching incidnet will forever live in people’s minds, especially since on Thursday [Aug. 10], the Arapahoe County District Attorney’s Office released hundreds of pictures of what was left at the scene. Bloodshed, flips flops, bloody cell phones, bullet holes are amongst the scene.

Holmes fired 76 shots inside the theater, including six from his shotgun, 65 from his semi-automatic rifle and five form his handgun. The gunman even hit three individuals in the adjacent theater.
While most would have liked the crime spree to end there, Holmes made an attempt to kill anyone who stepped foot in his home after the theater shooting was all said and done. He admitted to police that his apartment had been “rigged with explosives and incendiaries,” according to the Daily Mail. Thankfully, no there was injured.
