A report surfaced accusing Floyd Mayweather of receiving illegal intravenous injections of saline and vitamins the day before his mega fight with Manny Pacquiao.  The report was damning especially since Mayweather has championed for stricter testing and accused Pacquiao of using performance-enhancing drugs years ago which led to negotiations for their fight to break up.

While Mayweather’s medical team claimed that he was administered the IVs to combat dehydration concerns following the May 1 weigh-in, their reasoning doesn’t make the IV use any less illegal under WADA rules. SB Nation’s report speculates that Mayweather could’ve been injected to mask or dilute a banned substance.

Floyd Mayweather issued a statement today completing denying that he committed any violations and bringing up that he is the one that insisted on elevating the drug testing for all his fights.
