Alfredo Guzman, son of El Chapo tweeted out a photo of himself with two other men siting in a restaurant. He attempted to cover their faces with emojis however, authorities believe that the man on the left is indeed El Chapo. He tweet along with the photo, “Agustooo aqui ya saben con quien apatoroo” which roughly translates to “In pleasure here, you already know with whom.”
What’s more important than the photo however, is that Guzman never turned off the location feature on Twitter. So when he posted the photo their location, “Costa Rica” was right there for authorities to see.
Mexican officials are proceeding with caution fearing the tweet may just be a distraction as well as examining the photo trying to determine if the location is the country or the town in Mexico with the same name.
Since El Chapo’s escape in July the U.S. has offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture. Mexico has also put up 60 million pesos ($3.8 million) for information.
